Information We Collect
We collect information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked to you. This is categorized as follows:
- Account Information: Your name, username, email address, and encrypted password.
- Communication Data: We collect and store logs of communications between you and our support team, as well as billing history and payment methods (via Razorpay).
- Instagram/Meta Data: When you connect your account, we receive your Instagram username, profile picture URL, follower counts, and media metadata. We store encrypted access tokens provided by Meta to facilitate automations.
- Usage & Automated Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with our service, including IP addresses, device identifiers, browser types, and approximate location (derived from IP).
- Derived Analytics: Statistics such as DM response rates, conversion metrics from leads, and engagement data derived from your automation rules.

How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data for the following business and commercial purposes:
- Service Operation: To facilitate automated interactions (DMs/Comments) based on your configured rules.
- Analytics & Optimization: To provide you with insights into your audience engagement and lead generation success.
- Marketing & Remarketing: We may use anonymized usage patterns to improve our marketing strategies or use third-party tools for remarketing purposes to show you relevant Influenger updates.
- Customer Support: To resolve technical issues or billing inquiries.
- Compliance: To enforce our Terms of Service and comply with Meta's Developer Policies.

Instagram & Meta Data Handling
Influenger provides tools to link your Instagram account with our platform. By doing so, you authorize us to access and transfer data via the Instagram Graph API, including:
- instagram_business_basic: Basic profile info and media.
- instagram_business_manage_messages: To read and send Direct Messages in response to triggers.
- instagram_business_manage_comments: To monitor and reply to comments on your posts and reels.
Third-Party Liability: We are not responsible for the privacy practices or data usage of Meta or Instagram. By using these integrations, you authorize the transfer of information to these third parties and agree to be bound by their respective privacy policies.
Data Retention: We store your Instagram metadata only as long as your account is active. Upon disconnection, all tokens and associated metadata are purged within 48 hours.

Data Sharing & Third Parties
We share your information with service providers only as necessary to perform the service:
- Payment Processors (Razorpay): For secure transaction handling.
- Cloud Infrastructure: To host our database and application logic securely.
- Streaming Analytics (Aiven/Kafka): For real-time processing of automation events and system monitoring.
- Communication Tools: For sending you transactional and update emails.
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or unrelated third parties.

Data Storage & Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt.
- All communications are encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS.
- Authentication uses signed HTTP-only cookies to mitigate XSS attacks.
- API routes are protected against brute-force attacks via rate limiting.
- Security headers are enforced using Helmet.js (CSP, HSTS, X-Frame-Options).

Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure: Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format (JSON/CSV).
- Disconnect Instagram: Revoke our access at any time via Meta's Connected Apps settings.

Cookies
We use a minimal set of cookies necessary to operate the service:
- ch_token — An HTTP-only, secure session cookie that keeps you logged in. It expires after 7 days of inactivity and is never accessible to JavaScript.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics. We do not use Google Analytics.

Children's Privacy
Influenger is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Where changes are significant, we will notify you by email. Continued use of Influenger after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
